Electrolytic cells containing Zn and Al salt solutions are connected in series. If 6.5   g of Zn is deposited in one cell calculate mass of Al deposited in second cell (molar mass : Zn = 65 , Al = 27 ) by passing definite quantity of electricity?

Cell 1:

Zn ( sq ) 2 + + 2 e Zn ( s )  (mole ratio)  ) 1 = 1   mol 2   mole

Cell 2:

Al (aq)  3 + + 3 e Al ( s ) (  mole ratio  ) 2 = 1   mol 3   mole

W 1 (  mole ratio  ) 1 × M 1 = W 2 (  mole ratio  ) 2 × M 2 6.5   g 1   mol / 2   mol e × 65   g   mol 1 = W 2 1   mol / 3   mol e × 27   g   mol 1 6.5   g × 2 65 = W 2 × 3 27   W 2 = 6.5 × 2 × 27 65 × 3 = 1.8   g
