1. (JEE Main 2023 (Online) 11th April Morning Shift )

From the v t graph shown, the ratio of distance to displacement in 25   s of motion is:

JEE Main 2023 (Online) 11th April Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 11 English

A. 1

B. 3 5

C. 1 2

D. 5 3

Correct Option is (D)

Area under the graph from t = 0 to t = 20 sec = 200   m

Area under the graph from t = 20 to t = 25 sec = 50   m

So distance covered = ( 200 + 50 ) m = 250   m

Displacement = ( 200 50 ) m = 150   m

 distance   displacement  = 250 150 = ( 5 3 )

2. (JEE Main 2023 (Online) 10th April Morning Shift )

The position-time graphs for two students A and B returning from the school to their homes are shown in figure.

JEE Main 2023 (Online) 10th April Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 6 English

(A) A lives closer to the school

(B) B lives closer to the school

(C) A takes lesser time to reach home

(D) A travels faster than B

(E) B travels faster than A

Choose the correct answer from the options given below :

A. (A), (C) and (D) only

B. (A) and (E) only

C. (A), (C) and (E) only

D. (B) and (E) only

Correct Option is (B)

JEE Main 2023 (Online) 10th April Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 6 English Explanation

From the given graphs, it can be seen

 slope  B >  slope  A v B > v A

Statement (E) is correct.

Also, x A < x B , A lives closer to school.

Statement ( A ) is correct.

3. (JEE Main 2023 (Online) 8th April Evening Shift )

Given below are two statements

Statement I : Area under velocity- time graph gives the distance travelled by the body in a given time.

Statement II : Area under acceleration- time graph is equal to the change in velocity- in the given time.

In the light of given statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below.

A. Both Statement I and Statement II are False.

B. Both Statement I and Statement II are true.

C. Statement I is incorrect but Statement II is true.

D. Statement I is correct but Statement II is false.

Correct Option is (C)

Area under velocity time graph gives displacement of body in given time.

Area under acceleration time graph gives change in velocity in the given time.

So Statement I false but Statement II True

4. (JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift )

Match Column-I with Column-II :

Column-I
( x -t graphs)
Column-II
( v -t graphs)
A. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 1 I. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 2
B. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 3 II. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 4
C. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 5 III. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 6
D. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 7 IV. JEE Main 2023 (Online) 30th January Morning Shift Physics - Motion Question 25 English 8

Choose the correct answer from the options given below:

A. A- II, B-III, C-IV, D-I

B. A- II, B-IV, C-III, D-I

C. A- I, B-III, C-IV, D-II

D. A- I, B-II, C-III, D-IV

Correct Option is (B)

dx dt =  slope  0  always increasing  ( A  - II)  dx dt < 0 ; and at  t dx dt 0  (B - IV)  dx dt > 0  for first half  dx dt < 0  for second half.  ( C  - III)  dx dt =  constant   (D - I)

5. (JEE Main 2023 (Online) 24th January Evening Shift )

The velocity time graph of a body moving in a straight line is shown in the figure.

JEE Main 2023 (Online) 24th January Evening Shift Physics - Motion Question 19 English

The ratio of displacement to distance travelled by the body in time 0 to 10s is :

A. 1 : 1

B. 1 : 3

C. 1 : 4

D. 1 : 2

Correct Option is (B)

From v -t graph

Displacement = Area under curve considering sign also.

Distance = Area under curve considering only magnitude

Displacement = Σ area = 8 × 2 4 × 2 + 4 × 4 2 × 4 = 16   m

Distance = Σ area ∣= 48   m

Displacement : distance = 1 : 3
